Avatar Requirements
All avatars MUST be 50x50 gif or jpeg images. If you don't have any fancy image editing software to resize your images (or you've found an image you want to use, but it's to big or small) you can always use MS Paint (if you're desperate, of course). By going Image>Attributes... you can see the length and width of your image. With a lot of patience, you can probably drag around the edges of the canvas until it matches the required filesize. If you DO have fancy image editing software like, say, Photoshop, look for Images>Image size (or Canvas Size for cropping) or anything else similar to that which would help you resize your image. I'm not familiar with programs other than Photoshop and Painter, so if you have something like Paint Shop Pro, you'll have to do the searching yourself.

Usable HTML
In Posts:
You're free to use <i>italics</i>, <b>boldness</b>, superscript, subscript, <u>underlining</u>, <s>striked text</s>, and <a href="URL HERE">links</a>. (Please use these to link to news articles or otherwise bulky information resorces rather than copying and pasting the information into your posts. It saves space in the database and reduces the load times for forum threads.)
In Signatures and Bios:
You can use <i>, <b>, <u>, , , <a>, <s>, and <font>. Font tag example: <font color="#112255" face="courier new">This is an example!</font>
In art forums, you're allowed to use the infamous <img> tag. Example: <img src='http://AN_IMAGE.jpg'>
Keep in mind that this forum uses HTML and none of that "BBcode" stuff with the [square brackets]. You CAN, however make use of some forum-specific shortcuts such as :iconusername: to insert a user's avatar in your message (it also acts as a link to their userpage and is CASE SENSITIVE), and :userusername: for their username linking to their userpage. (Ex: :iconFirequill: would give you and :userFirequill: would give you Firequill.) These work in posts and userpage comments.

How do I post images?
If you have an image you want to post, you're going to have to upload it to a website like Photobucket or Flickr or your own website, etc. before you can show it to anyone online. Websites like that tend to give you code to copy and paste into places online. You can use that, but this forum doesn't use any of that *BBcode* stuff, so be sure to use the HTML code provided (or just use the <img> tag as shown above). Some websites, like deviantART for example, while allowing you to upload your images onto their website, don't allow remote linking. That means you can't use the <img> tag to show them directly on other websites. For these, link to the page that the image is actually on (http://firequill.deviantart.com/art/some-title-number, for example).

What does it take to get banned?
Assuming you're reading this because you're not TRYING to get banned, here's a list of 'requirements' for you to avoid!
- Incomprehensible spelling and grammar. (If nobody can understand you, you're just getting in the way. You'll be given a chance, of course, to improve.)
- Disrespect/harrassment of other members. (This is, without question, ban-worthy. There is no excuse for insulting/harassing other members!)
- Posts with MATURE/ADULT content. (The forums are meant to be kept at a PG 13 level. Keep in mind that younger users may indeed be reading said posts.)
- Excessive swearing. (Though there's a word censor thing in place, excessive swearing says something about YOU as a person and nobody wants to have to read over confusing placements of the phrase 'scrumptious cherries' all the time.)
- Abuse of bugs. (If you find a bug, do NOT "see what you can do with it"! Report the problem to me and I'll do what I can to fix it. If you cause noticeable damages/make a mess of the forum with such bugs, you will be banned without warning.)

Can I roleplay here?
No.
The focus of these forums is not role playing. I don't want the forum being crowded with members who only visit the website TO roleplay and certainly don't want to have to check on these sorts of things all the time to make sure rules aren't being broken and things aren't getting out of hand.
